OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to provide high-quality, personally adapted homes
to suit the needs of individuals who require safe and secure
lifetime homes with 24/7 care, support and supervision for 365
days per year.
As a not-for-profit Registered Social Landlord, we are committed
to working collaboratively with local and national organisations to
offer specialised accommodation, tailored to the unique needs of
our tenants, enabling dignified and autonomous living, in their
forever home.

WHO ARE WE ?

Assured Living Housing Association (ALHA) is a specialist housing provider with
over 20 years’ experience in the specialist field of supported living.
We provide adults with physical and mental health issues forever homes tailored to
their specific housing requirements, internally and externally supporting them to
live independently in their communities across North West England.
ALHA aims to provide homes for our tenants best suited to their:

The ALHA Board is committed to continuous improvement and innovation in all that
is done, to never become complacent and constantly challenge ourselves to do
better and achieve best value for money. The Board’s vision is to provide life-long
homes for our tenants, whilst seeking to engage and empower residents to make
choices and exercise control over the services they receive, whenever possible
involving family and advocacy to ensure the best experience for each
resident. ALHA realises that its success rests on the satisfaction it provides to its
tenants and commissioners.
ALHA Board’s purpose is to provide effective leadership, guiding the organisation
within a framework of prudent controls, determining the vision, mission, and
strategy, including oversight and evaluation of the same, whilst being accountable
to the key stakeholder commissioners of its tenanted properties and households.
ALHA Board drives its social purpose, mission, values, and ambitions, within a
positive and transparent culture with high standards of probity and conduct,
safeguarding the organisation’s reputation and emphasising equality of opportunity
and inclusion.

MEET THE TEAM

Linda Williams – Governance and Community Specialist – CHAIR
Linda has over 30 years’ experience in governance, leadership, and community development, with a strong track record of
driving positive change across housing, education, and public service. Her deep commitment to community impact is
reflected in past roles as a local councillor, magistrate, and trustee of several community organisations. She brings
strategic insight, practical experience, and a collaborative approach to board leadership. As Chair of Assured Living
Housing Association, Linda supports the delivery of safe, supported housing for vulnerable individuals — a role she
considers a privilege, combining professional purpose with personal conviction
Russell Atkinson – Director

Rob Kellock – Company Secretary
Rob joined the Board in November 2024 and is both Director and Company Secretary. A former President of Preston Law
Society, Rob has 30 years’ experience as a solicitor; he has practiced in Lancashire for his entire career, 20 years of
which include non-executive Director roles, providing strategic guidance to diverse organisations. Rob also has10 years’
experience working at national level as a Peer Reviewer for the Legal Aid Agency, assessing the work of other solicitors, a
critical quality control tool. As a practitioner with experience of housing disrepair cases, and an extensive background
acting as an advocate for the vulnerable, Rob brings knowledge, experience and great enthusiasm to ALHA. “
Steve Lomax – Audit & Risk Committee
Steve is now retired having had a career spanning 40 years as a Corporate Banker in the North West, latterly spending
time with Homes England the HM Government department focused on residential house development funding. He brings
a wealth of experience to Assured Living on all matters financial, where one of his main Board responsibilities is Audit and
Risk management across the Association.
He lives locally in South Ribble and holds a number of voluntary posts including School Governor and running a local
grassroots football club.
Gerald Waterfield – Audit & Risk Committee
Gerald spent 42 years in corporate and commercial banking and qualified as an Associate of The Chartered Institute of
Bankers. The latter 28 years were spent at The Co-operative Bank and where given its social leaning, a considerable
number of North West based housing associations spanning all sizes were in his portfolio; a great vista on the good, bad
and ugly !
Latterly he has spent the last 10+ years as a self employed management consultant with the rump of client involvement
being anchored to bodies with a strong social and ethical impact. In particular he serves on the Board of Lancashire
Community Finance.
Gerald has been involved with AHLA since the outset and remains absolutely committed to its continued success in
providing bespoke, decent standard and long term housing for those in the severest need of such in the North West. His
Board responsibilities see him in monthly contact with the operations team and he shares his enthusiasm via a regular
dialogue with Chair LW and maintaining an active sector interest.
